(autoinsidenews) - Mark Fields, Ford's president of the Americas, has said that Ford's best-selling F-Series trucks will continue to be America's favorite truck. Despite increased competition from GM's Silverado and Sierra and Toyota's new Tundra, Fields expects the F-Series to stay on top. Ford has pledged to keep improving the F-Series trucks to stay a step ahead of the competition, reports Trend.
Fields said the new Super Duty models, which account for around 40% of F-Series, including the refreshed F-250, F-350 and new F-450, are good examples of Ford's continuing commitment. Despite the new Super Dutys, and their new 6.4L Power Stroke, Ford sales may not increase this year.
While the full-size truck segment was down nearly 10 percent, Ford's pickup sales were down 11 percent last year. And 2007 might not be much better, said Fields.
