Energy Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan Discussed in Tokyo

Azerbaijan, Baku, 26 February / corr Trend S.Agayeva / Energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan was the priority topic at the intergovernmental talks held during the current visit of Azerbaijani delegation to Tokyo.

The negotiations were held within the framework of the 5th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan under the leadership of the Azerbaijani Vice Premier Abid Sharifov and Vice president of Itochu Company Akita Yakoto, the Azerbaijani embassy in Tokyo announced during a telephone conversation.

A protocol was signed at the end of the meeting, the embassy said.

In 2007 Azerbaijan imported goods worth $261.5mln from Japan and exported goods worth only $1.1mln from this country.
