Issues Should be Solved for Supply of Azerbaijani Gas to Greece and Italy in Large Volumes: Minister (video)

Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 March / corr. Trend S. Aliyev/ Number of issues, including signing of the agreement on sale and purchase, should be solved in order to begin the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Greece and Italy, Natig Aliyev, the minister of industry and energy of Azerbaijan said on 17 March as a result of the talks with the development minister of Greece Christos Pholias.

According to him, signing of an inter-government agreement between Azerbaijan and Turkey on the transit of gas via that country is of great significance.

Turkey, Greece and Italy have signed an agreement on gas supply. "It is important to determine whether Azerbaijan will join the very agreement, or a new quadripartite agreement will be signed," Aliyev said.

Establishment of the joint ventures in energy and industry, and cooperation in amended energy sources were discussed during the talks held in Baku.

The Greek delegation led by Greece development minister includes- general secretary of Sea Transport Ministry, president of the national council for strategy and energy of Greece, chairman of the board of directors of DEPA, head of the center for alternative energy sources and head of Greek food organization.
