SOCAR Builds New Gas-Turbine Power Station for Offshore Fields

Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 September/ Trend / State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to build new electric power station to replace an old one which operated for over 20 years to supply Oil Rocks and 28 May oil and gas extracting units with electricity, SOCAR said.

Two reconstructed 6/0.4KV distribution units have been put into operation to improve electricity supply in Oil Rocks field. 6/0.4KV distribution unit in platform # 2346 and Oil Rocks-1887 platform were put into operation as well.

6/0.4KV distribution units have been put into operation in Bibi Heybat oil and gas extracting unit and 0.4KV air electric main with a length of 39.4km and 6KV with a length of 21km have been changed.

35/6KV substation has been put into operation in the second quarter of 2008 to improve electricity supply of Absheron oil and gas extracting unit.

35/6KV substation, two transformers with 5,600KWt capacity and 6/0.4KV distribution unit with 18 chambers have been put into operation to improve electricity supply of Gum Adasi oil and gas extracting unit
