The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) Marketing and Economic Operations Department exported over 564,000 tons of oil related products from oil refineries in January-March 2009 compared to 55,200 tons in January-March 2008.
In January-March 2009, fuel oil, bitumen and lubricants were not exported.
Oil products in Azerbaijan are produced at two Baku oil refineries with the total capacity of 20mln tons of oil per year. Both refineries are owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), which annually processes over 6 million tons of oil produced in the offshore and onshore fields through its own funds.
