The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has begun to process data, received as a result of two-dimensional (2D) geophysical research in onshore Zardab, Shikhbagi and eastern Shikhbagi units, a source in SOCAR said.
2D research at these units began in April 2009.
Earlier, the source said it is planned to fully end processing and interpreting of the received data in March 2010.
The main objective of the work is to clarify geological structure and predict oil and gas sites of the unit.
After completion of the interpretation, the work done will be presented to Azneft PU, which is a customer. The PU is a member of SOCAR.
There are 57 oil and gas fields, including 18 offshore and the remained onshore. SOCAR staff today is more than 62 thousand people.
