The Aral region is promising for Razvedka Dobycha KazMunaiGas in terms of oil production, General Director Askar Balzhanov told media.
"The Aral region is promising for us in terms of oil production," he said. "We have had a dialogue with a couple of companies that are already working in the Uzbek part of Aral region. I think that we can begin to work with them more actively soon."
He stressed active operations were conducted in the oil and gas business in the Uzbek part of Aral region.
"In 2005-2006, we drilled two wells there," he said. "I can not say that the results were negative, but there are difficulties in the form of breaks."
