Iran ups gas export to Turkey by 7 percent

Iran has increased its natural gas exports to Turkey by 7 percent this solar year, Mehr news Agency reported quoting Deputy Oil Minister Javad Owji as saying today.

Iran exported 30 million cubic meters of natural gas per day to Turkey this solar year.

Iran and Turkey signed a 25-year gas contract in 1996 to export 10 billion cubic meters of gas annually from Iran to Turkey.

According to BP, Iran's natural gas production in 2010 reached to 138.5 billion cubic meters, while its domestic gas consumption reached to 136.5 bcm annually.

Iran imports gas from Turkmenistan and exports gas to Turkey.
