Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan.10 / Trend E.Ismayilov /
Over 815 million cubic meters of gas have been selected from the underground storage facilities in Azerbaijan since the start of the season, a SOCAR source told Trend today.
There are two underground gas storages in Azerbaijan - Kalmaz and Garadagh.
According to a source, more than 541.2 million cubic meters of the total volume of selected gas fell to Garadagh gas storage facility, more than 274 million cubic meters - Kalmaz.
Over 1.2 billion cubic meters of the total gas volume fell to Garadagh and the remaining 1.16 billion cubic meters - Kalmaz underground gas storage facility.
The total volume of gas selected daily from underground gas storage facilities, exceeds more than 13 million cubic meters compared to 12 million cubic meters as of December 22, 2011, the source said.
About 3.25 billion cubic meters of gas were pumped in underground gas storage facilities at the end of the pumping season compared to 3.05 billion cubic meters last year.
SOCAR planned to inject 3.5 billion cubic metres to underground gas storages last year, but because of a sharp deterioration in weather conditions and consumption growth the process of gas injection was stopped before the scheduled time.
