Iranian petrochemical companies exported $7 billion worth of products in the first half of the current Iranian year, a report said.

Exports of petrochemical products exceeded 15 million tons, marking a rise of 24 percent in the current year’s first half compared to the same corresponding period last year, Mehr news agency reported.

The products valued over $7.4 billion that accounts for 27 percent and 32 percent of the country’s total export value in terms of tonnage and value, respectively.

Last year, Iran exported over 14,000 tons of petrochemical products worth $5.9 million.

In August, CEO of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Reza Norouzzadeh said Iran’s petrochemical industry was “unsanctionable” and that the exports would continue on schedule.

The US has imposed fresh sanctions on Iran after withdrawing from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and is planning to push Iran’s oil exports down to zero by November 4.
