President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov offered South Korea to consider the possibility of implementing joint energy projects, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmenistan State News Agency.

The offer was made on April 17 during negotiations with President of South Korea Moon Jae-in, who arrived in the Turkmen capital on a state visit. It is expected that the following negotiations will take place in May-June this year.

“Representatives of the South Korean delegation expressed intentions of their country’s business circles to expand presence in the rapidly developing Turkmen market,” the news said.

The most important projects to be implemented in this area include processing of oil and gas, manufacture of gas and chemical products and the training of personnel for the petrochemical complex.

South Korean companies participate in petrochemical, gas processing, road transport and other industries of Turkmenistan. In particular, they are taking part in the construction of a natural gas refinery at the Galkynysh gas field, the second biggest field in the world, a polymer plant in Kiyanly settlement, and high-octane gasoline production units at an oil refinery in Turkmenbashi city.
