Russia's TATNEFT interested in launching projects in Kazakhstan(Exclusive)

Russia's oil company TATNEFT PJSC is interested in development of relations and launch of a number of joint projects on the territory of Kazakhstan, the representative of the company told Trend.

According to the representative, TATNEFT has signed a number of documents (memorandum of understanding and confidentiality agreement) with Kazakhstan’s National Company KazMunayGas and its subsidiaries. The main areas of cooperation have also been predetermined.

“Taking into consideration good relations between two companies, TATNEFT is planning to participate in a number of projects on the territory of Kazakhstan if the corresponding agreements are reached and is planning on long term mutually beneficial cooperation of parties,” the official said.

According to the representative, the parties already prepared and pre-approved the roadmap, which oversees the introduction of TATNEFT technologies on KazMunayGas’s facilities, export of goods and services and so on.

“For example, the subsidiary companies of TATNEFT and KazMunayGas have already signed contracts on supply of tubing strings, the export of cars tires is being implemented in Kazakhstan and the possibilities of signing contracts on export of other equipment is being considered,” the representative said.

Noting the importance of launching social projects, the representative of TATNEFT added, that no doubt the cooperation of companies in social area will be overseen in preparation of future agreements between parties.

National Company KazMunayGas is Kazakhstan's national operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state in Kazakhstan's petroleum sector.

The National Company accounts for 25 percent of crude oil and gas condensate production, as well as 15 percent of natural and associated gas production domestically. Its trunklines are used to transport 56 percent of Kazakhstan's oil and 79 percent of gas.

TATNEFT is one of the largest Russian oil companies today and is an internationally recognized vertically integrated holding. The industrial complex of the Company includes steadily developing enterprises of crude oil and gas production, petroleum refining, petrochemicals production, the tire-manufacturing complex, network of filling stations and services.
