Internal oil transport tariffs to decrease in Kazakhstan

KazTransOil, which is Kazakhstan’s largest oil pipeline company has announced the decrease of cost of services for transportation of crude oil and oil products through Kazakhstan, Trend reports with reference to the press release of the company.

The press release of the company was published by Kazakhstan Stock Exchange.

According to the information, due to the expiration of tariff limit levels for the transportation service, starting from January 1, 2020 the tariff for crude oil and oil products transportation will be approximately 4,110 tenge ($10) compared to current 4,722 tenge ($12) for the transfer of a ton of oil per 1,000 km (without VAT).

In turn, the current tariff for transportation of crude oil for the purposes of export outside of Kazakhstan equal 6,399 tenge ($16) for a ton of oil per 1,000 km (without VAT).

Furthermore, on November 25, 2019 Kazakhstan’s Ministry of National Economy announced increase of excise tax on petrol will lead to a six percent increase of petrol prices in Kazakhstan. Starting from January 1, 2019 excise tax which currently equals 8 tenge (2.1 cent) will be increased by 10 tenge (2.6 cents).

KazTransOil is Kazakhstan’s largest oil pipeline company, which provides services on oil transportation on the domestic market and for export. The company is an owner of the largest network of main oil pipelines and waterlines in the country, total length of which amounts to 5,376 km of oil pipelines and 1,975 km of water pipeline.
