The number of drilling rigs of the Baker Hughes company in the world amounted to 1,059 units in March 2020, which is 26 more compared to February 2020 (1,085 units), Trend reports referring to the report of the company.

In March 2019, the number of international drilling rigs increased by 20 units compared to March 2019 (1,039 units).

The number of offshore drilling rigs was 244 in March 2020, which is one unit less compared to February of 2020 (245), and three units less compared to March 2019 (247).

According to the report, the number of onshore drilling rigs amounted to 815 units in March 2020, which is 25 units less compared to February 2020, and 23 more compared to the same month of 2019.

The number of drilling rigs in the world amounted to 1,964 units in March 2020, which is 161 less compared to February 2020 (2,125), and 249 units less compared to the same month of 2019 (2,213).

The number of Baker Hughes rigs is the calculation of rigs that are actively researched or developed for oil or natural gas production in the US, Canada and international markets. The company has revealing data on drilling rig as a service to the oil industry since 1944, when the Hughes Tool Company began weekly report of drilling operations in the US and Canada. A monthly international drilling rig count was launched in 1975.
