The Bukhara oil refinery in Uzbekistan in 2020 produced 843,900 tons of motor gasoline, the amount of which became the highest rate in the plant's 23-year history, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

According to Uzbekneftegaz, the sale of petroleum products was introduced on the basis of holistic market principles for the first time in the history of the oil and gas industry.

It is reported that the catalyst at the gas oil hydrotreating unit of the Bukhara oil refinery was replaced with the most modern type by the efforts of the specialists of Uzbekneftegaz JSC. As a result, for the first time in Uzbekistan, the production of diesel fuel of ecological categories Euro-4 and Euro-5 was launched.

Currently, fuel in Uzbekistan fully complies with world standards and has become an export-oriented product. At the end of 2020, a total of 85,900 tons of Euro-3, 4, 5 diesel fuels were produced and delivered to consumers.

Also, last year, a new stage of cooperation with local scientists was established. The production of local adsorbent UzAD-1 was introduced instead of the adsorbent SAS-851 (France) in cooperation with the Research Chemical and Pharmaceutical Institute of Uzbekistan for the first time.

In addition, the first step was taken towards the project on modernization and reconstruction of the Bukhara oil refinery, which had been planned for many years.

Moreover, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Uzbekneftegaz JSC, Honeywell UOP (US) and SK E&C (South Korea).
