BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 26
By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:
Iran's West Oil and Gas Production Company (WOGPC) has prevented a decline of more than 1 million cubic meters of gas daily by repairing well No. 3 in the Tang-e-Bijar gas field, Executive Director of the company Ali Rezaee said, Trend reports citing the WOGPC’s website.
The director noted that the equipment on the well was repaired in a short time and with great savings.
“However, if a drilling rig was installed and repaired at the well, extraction from the well would be suspended for at least 3 months. As a result, about 100 million cubic meters of gas would not be extracted,” Rezaee added.
In addition, a large amount of money had to be spent on repairing the well, he said.
Reportedly, Iran's West Oil and Gas Production Company are one of three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The company has been operating since 1999 and covers the Kermanshah, Ilam and Lorestan provinces of Iran. The company can produce 165,000 barrels of crude oil and 7 million cubic meters of gas per day.
Over the next 10 years, the company plans to increase crude oil production by 440,000 barrels and gas production by 15 million cubic meters per day.
