The Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis (Parliament) approved an increase in the maximum allocations from the state budget to managers of first-tier budget funds in 2021 by 11.69 trillion soum (nearly $1.1 billion) at the 20th plenary meeting on October 21, Trend reports citing "Gazeta.uz".
Following the approved amendments, the current expenses of the Ministry of Energy will grow by 1.09 trillion soum ($102 million) - from 43.8 billion soum ($409,971) to 1.14 trillion soum ($110 million). Of this amount, one trillion soum ($93.6 million) is planned to be used as "a subsidy to cover the difference in the average price of buying and selling natural gas to meet the needs of domestic consumers".
