Electricity exports from Azerbaijan in 10M2021 increased by 254.9 million kilowatt-hours compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to 1.156 billion kilowatt-hours, Trend reports citing the Energy Ministry.
According to the ministry, 252.8 million kilowatt-hours were exported to Iran, 318.6 million kilowatt-hours - to Turkey, 79.1 million kilowatt-hours - to Russia, and 505.5 million kilowatt-hours - to Georgia.
During the reporting period, the production of electricity in Azerbaijan increased by 1.554 million kilowatt-hours on an annualized basis - up to more than 22.8 billion kilowatt-hours.
In particular, thermal power plants (TPPs) accounted for more than 21.4 billion kilowatt-hours, hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) - about 1.11 billion kilowatt-hours, wind power plants, solar power plants, and power plants of a solid waste disposal plant - 288.3 million kilowatt-hours.
