BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr.1. Until 27th March 2022, 1.328 bcm of natural gas has been transported on the new Serbian-Hungarian natural gas interconnector towards Hungary, since the pipeline started operations on 1 October 2021, Hungarian transmission system operator FGSZ told Trend.
The company noted that during March 2022, daily transport volumes averaged around 10.1 mcm/day.
“The pipeline is already able to operate at its technical capacity of around 23.3 mcm/day (8.5 bcma). Full utilization depends on commercial interest and availability of gas sources. As of this moment, there are no plans for expanding the pipeline’s capacity,” said FGSZ.
The development on the Hungarian side cost around 20 billion forints (EUR 56.9m) and the total cost was 23 billion forints.
