BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 27. The closure of Petrofac Ltd (UK) will not affect its operations in Azerbaijan, the company told Trend.

Petrofac Ltd (UK), a leading international service provider to the energy industry, has recently announced the liquidation of its representative office in Azerbaijan.

“This relates to a dormant legal entity under which our operations do not run. Our Azerbaijan operations and JV continue as normal and we are committed to our business there,” said Petrofac.

SOCAR-Petrofac joint venture was established in 2017 for an unlimited period. SOCAR and Petrofac Facilities Management Limited hold 51 percent and 49 percent of the joint venture, respectively.

The JV secured a new contract last year valued at around US$25 million to support Azeri Central East (ACE) project of BP in Azerbaijan. The scope of work includes the provision of Commissioning Technicians and other specialist personnel, and other associated services to support the project at both onshore and offshore work sites in-country. The scope of work to be carried out by SOCAR Petrofac’s personnel includes, but is not limited to mechanical and electrical installation, instrumentation, and telecommunications.
