BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. Azerbaijan's wind farms manufactured 37.4 million kilowatts per hour of electricity from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, this is twice as much, compared to the previous year.
The sector of production, distribution and supply of electric energy, gas and steam manufactured products and rendered services worth 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion) with 1.7 percent growth from January through July 2023.
The volume of output in the sector of water supply, cleansing and waste treatment increased by 16 percent and amounted to 318 million manat ($187 million).
Azerbaijan produced 15 billion kilowatts per hour of electricity in the first seven months of 2023, 0.3 percent more year-on-year. Among them, 14 billion kilowatts per hour was merchant electricity, which is 0.2 percent more year-on-year.
Moreover, thermal power plants generated 13 billion kilowatts per hour of electricity, which is 0.5 percent more year-on-year. Hydropower plants generated 1 billion kilowatts per hour of electricity, down by 5 percent from January through July 2022. Solar power plants produced 39 million kilowatts per hour of power, which is 6 percent more than in the first seven months of 2022.
