Azerbaijan buys sizable amount of crude oil from Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. Azerbaijan imported 467,456 tons of crude oil from Turkmenistan from January through June 2023, Trend reports.

The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reports that the cost of importing crude oil from Turkmenistan in the first six months of this year exceeded $271.59 million, which is 15.8 times higher than the same period in 2022.

During the period from January through June of the previous year, Azerbaijan imported more than 30,726 tons of Turkmenistan's oil, worth more than $17.11 million.

In general, throughout the previous year, Azerbaijan brought in upwards of 352,715 tons of raw oil from Turkmenistan, with a total value surpassing $245.14 million.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan purchased a cumulative quantity exceeding 1.13 million tons of unprocessed oil valued at $632.9 million during the initial six months of this year.
