BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated around 3.58 billion kilowatts of electricity during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP Dariush Mahmoudi said, Trend reports.
The official stated that most of the electricity (over 3.44 billion kilowatts) was generated by the steam units, while the gas units contributed 130 million kilowatts.
Mahmoudi added that in the 7th month alone (August 23 through September 22, 2023), the steam units produced 466 million kilowatts and the gas units produced 19.8 million kilowatts of electricity.
According to him, all the power units of the plant are working at full capacity and supplying electricity to the network.
The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation capacity of this power plant is 1,330 megawatt-hours.
The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320 megawatt hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt hours each.
