BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 29. In October 2023, SOCAR Türkiye's STAR oil refinery witnessed a notable increase in petroleum coke production, with a growth of 23.7 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, Trend reports.
According to the estimates from Türkiye's Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK), the refinery produced 75,471 tonnes of petroleum coke in October 2023, up from 61,018 tonnes during the corresponding period in 2022.
SOCAR Türkiye has ambitious plans to process over 12 million tons of oil at the STAR refinery as of 2023. The refinery, operational since October 2018, is equipped to process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
The refinery utilizes crude oil from the Black Sea region, Africa, and other countries for production of petrochemical products.
