Uzbekistan adjusts petroleum product prices amid excise tax hike

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 16. Uzbekistan, in accordance with the article of its Tax Code, changes the excise tax rates on petroleum products and other excisable goods and services from April 1, 2024, Trend reports.

According to Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz oil and gas company, since the specified period, the excise tax on the production of 1 ton of RON-80 gasoline has increased from 303,000 Uzbek soums ($24.09) to 340,000 Uzbek soums ($27.03), and for 1 ton of jet fuel (except synthetic), from 242,000 Uzbek soums ($19.24) to 271,000 Uzbek soums ($21.54).

The excise tax on the production of 1 ton of diesel fuel (except synthetic) will increase from 291,000 soums ($23.13) to 326,000 soums ($25.91), and 1 ton of ECO diesel fuel (except synthetic) from 262,000 soums ($20.83) to 293,000 soums ($23.29).

Furthermore, from April 1, the excise tax on the sale of 1 ton of RON-80 gasoline to the end consumer increased from 565,000 soums ($44.91) to 633,000 soums ($50.32), 1 ton of diesel fuel (except synthetic) from 516,000 soums ($41.02) to 578,000 soums ($45.95), and 1 ton of liquefied gas from 807,500 soums ($64.19) to 904,000 soums ($71.86).

Meanwhile, in this regard, starting from the specified date of this year, the starting prices of petroleum products and liquefied natural gas of Uzbekneftegaz JSC at exchange auctions will be set taking into account changes in excise tax.
