Azerbaijan will receive over 2100 MWt of generating supplies in the nearest 5 years, the deputy head of the production and technical department of Azerenerji JSC Bahruz Sadigov told Trend. It will be possible at the result of constructing of new electrical power stations and rehabilitation of energy objects.
In particular, construction of the Sumgayit electrical power station is currently underway, where steam and gas plant (SGP) of 506 MWt capacity will be installed. Its commissioning is planned for late 2007. Construction of the second SGP is envisaged at Shimal Hydro-electrical power station (HEPS) of 400 MWt capacity which construction will be finished in 2008.
Sadigov noted rehabilitation of Azerbaijan HEPS in Mingechavir will enable to receive additional 400 MWt of power.
Sadigov reported 500 MWt of additions power will be received due to construction of modular type electrical power stations. Such types power stations are currently underway in Astara, Sheki, Hachmaz.
