President of State Oil company: SOCAR examines opening gas stations in Ukraine

The expedience of opening gas stations in Ukraine, in particular crude oil delivery and subsequent refinery or direct delivery of oil product, shall be estimated prior to implementing this project, Trend reports quoting Rovnag Abdullayev, president of SOCAR.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Victor Yutshchenko, speaking at GUAM summit in Kiev, offered Azerbaijan to participate more actively in Ukrainian economy.

Ukraine is going to create all conditions for Azerbaijans crude oil processing in Ukraine and organizing Azeri gas station network throughout the country to sell oil products.

Azerbaijan is currently examining these proposals. Officials of the Ministry of Industry and Energy said this project can implement SOCAR as well as it ha its own crude oil, processing experts and might organize delivery and sales of oil products.

However, SOCAR President said, this will depend on conditions to be created for Azeri business in Ukraine.
