The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said it intends to restore work on the well drilled several years ago on Muradhanly field which was then operated by Muradhanli Operating Company (MOC), which has since been cancelled. Originally MOC operated as a joint venture with British company RAMCO and SOCAR, Trend reports.

Plans are made to carry out the cutting of the side tracks and drill with declination. Drilling work will also be carried out on the Jafarli field which is located near Muradhanly.

SOCAR will carry out drilling of an exploration well on the Alat-Daniz field. It has been noted that most part of the field is in shallow water, where the depth range is no less than 5 meters.

SOCAR has no data on this area. There are plans to drill one sloping well. In case hydrocarbon reserves are revealed, it may be possible to consider production with the use of an artificial dyke or pier, SOCAR stated.
