Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / On 10 April the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan and Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the project "Application of the fresh development mechanism for utilization of the marsh-gas collected from areas of wastes in Baku".
The document was signed by the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, Heydar Babayeva and Mitsubishi Vice President for Europe Yochi Kanno. According to the Memorandum, the Company will prepare the feasibility study for protect at the expense of its own finances.
Taking into consideration the danger of marsh-gas for the near settlements, utilizing these wastes is important. As a result of the implementation of the project, it is intended to receive a certificate on decrease of the gas emission.
The gas collected in Azerbaijan will be used for the electricity production. Therefore, gas reservoir and processing facilities will be installed in the area of rests.
