Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. / corr. / corr. / corr. Trend Trend U.Ismaylova / A high-ranking representative of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) stated, that taking into consideration, the possibility to liberalize Azerbaijan's gas market, SOCAR does not exclude the probability of attractiveness in the sale of gas to foreign partners, through the development project of gas condensate Shah Deniz field.

The large-volume of gas in the Azerbaijani market from Shah Deniz field may be supplied within Phase-2 of this project.

Presently Phase-1 of the Shah Deniz development project is being recognized by the operator of the Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company, established to sell the gas from Shah Deniz, is Norwegian Statoil .

Earlier the Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan, Natig Aliyev, said that Azerbaijan may refuse the gas sale services of Statoil in the Phase-2.

SOCAR's high-ranking representative said that presently the issue of refusing the services of Statoil in Phase-2 is discussed with the partners of the Shah Deniz project.

"We cannot connect our will with our partners and say that we will sell the gas ourselves. The gas does not belong to only us, especially in the beginning stage of Phase2," he said.

According to him, SOCAR should offer effective terms to partners relating to it.

The gas from Shah Deniz field is transported via the South Caucasus Pipeline and condensate via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
