Uzbekistan implementing Smart Bank concept

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24

By Ilkin Seyfaddini - Trend:

The Ministry of Innovation Development of Uzbekistan has developed the Smart Bank concept, which is implemented in cooperation with Uzbek Savdogarbank, Trend reports citing the ministry.

"Smart Bank allows customers to get a plastic card within five minutes, manage the account, open a deposit, use international money transfers, exchange currency, use credit services, apply to the bank online and consult regarding services provided," the message said.

This project is aimed at reducing the "human factor" in the provision of services by banks, improving the efficiency of banks and improving the quality of customer service.

As a result of the project implementation, clients will get prompt access to banking services through online self-service without involving bank employees.

The project will also provide customers with an opportunity to communicate online. In particular, online consultations with bank employees will be organized. Bank employees will advise clients on the feasibility study of a particular project, prospects for its financing and use of bank loans, as well as accept applications.

The project is financed by Uzbek Savdogarbank, the initial cost of the project is 350 million soum ($34,372).

"At the next stages, it is planned to further expand banking services with involvement of other commercial banks in Uzbekistan," the ministry said.
