Georgia sees increase in monthly loans

Commercial banks in Georgia used refinancing loans in September this year, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

At the end of the reporting period, the balance of loans issued under this instrument increased by 240 million lari ($74.4 million) compared to the previous month and amounted to 1.940 million lari ($601,970).

According to the National Bank, monthly loans increased by 310 million lari ($96.1 million), and overnight loans - by 103.4 million lari ($32.08 million).

During the reporting period, banks' net debt increased by 671.6 million lari ($208.3 million) and at the end of September amounted to 2.52 billion lari ($781.9 million).

According to the National Bank, due to the aforementioned cash flow, the amount of reserve money increased by 300.7 million lari ($93.3 million) over the month. Including cash in circulation increased by 77.3 million lari ($23.9 million).

The balances of correspondent accounts of commercial banks in the national currency of the National Bank of Georgia increased by 143.4 million lari ($44.4 million), while balances on overnight deposits of commercial banks increased by 80.1 million lari ($24.8 million).
