Liquidity in Iran increases

The liquidity in Iran increased by 38.4 percent during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the report of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the report, the liquidity in Iran amounted to 31.3 quadrillion rials (about $745 billion) over the 9 months.

“While in the same period last Iranian year, this figure was 22.6 quadrillion rials (about $538 billion),” the report said.

Furthermore, the share of money in liquidity was 6.17 quadrillion rials (about $147 billion) in 9 months. This is an increase of 69.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, the share of money in liquidity amounted to 3.63 quadrillion rials (about $86.5 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.

According to the report, the share of near-money in liquidity was 25.1 quadrillion rials (about $598 billion) within nine months. This is an increase of 32.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“So, the share of near-money in liquidity amounted to 18.9 quadrillion rials (about $452 billion) in the same period last Iranian year,” the report said.
