The Azerbaijan Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund issued over 34,000 mortgage loans worth 1.81 billion manat ($1.06 billion) from January through May 2021, the fund told Trend.
According to the fund, the total amount of guaranteed loans issued in the reporting period exceeded 231.2 million manat ($136 million).
“In April 2021, Azerbaijani banks issued mortgage loans worth 37.3 million manat ($21.9 million), which is 3.2 times more compared to April 2020. Mortgage loans were refinanced in the amount of 27 million manat ($15.8 million),” the report said.
The average monthly amount of loans issued by authorized banks of the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund as of early May 2021 amounted to 54,052 manat or $31,795.
In April 2020, this figure was 51,493.7 manat ($30,290), which is the highest indicator for the entire period of the fund's activity.
