Deposits in Azerbaijani banks show annual growth - Central Bank

The total volume of deposits in Azerbaijani banks totaled over 24.9 billion manat ($14.6 billion) from January through July 2021, which is 10.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

At the same time, the volume of deposits of non-financial organizations increased by 14.6 percent on annual basis, amounting to 14.5 billion manat ($8.53 billion), the report said.

According to the CBA statistical report, individuals' deposits increased over the year by 10.7 percent - up to 8.6 billion manat ($5.05 billion).

“In the specifying period, deposits in foreign currency amounted to 13.1 billion manat ($7.7 billion), decreasing year on year by 1.5 percent. Deposits in national currency increased by 28.1 percent on annual basis - up to 11.8 billion manat ($6.94 billion),” the report reads.
