Statistical Center of Iran says inflation in the country rising

TEHRAN, Iran, Sept. 28

The Statistical Center of Iran (SCI) announced the inflation rate in August-September period to be at 45.8 percent, Trend reports via SCI's official website.

The Statistical Center of Iran has put the country’s point-to-point inflation at 43.7 percent last month of the past Iranian year (ended on March 20).

It means that the families have paid an average of 43.7 percent more for purchasing the same package of commodities and services in the last month of the past year, compared to the same month of the preceding year.

According to the SCI, the spot inflation rate of the major 'foods, beverages and tobacco' group varied between 60.2 percent for second decile and 50.5 percent for tenth decile.

The spot inflation rate of the major 'Non-Edible Goods and Services' group reached 33.8 percent to 47.5 percent for different deciles.

According to inflation figures among the various deciles, the inflation gap of the deciles stood at 4 percent, dropping 1.4 percent from the figure for last Iranian month (in July-August).
