BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 7. The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) will start testing for the use of the national cryptocurrency in the coming months, Director General of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), Ali Salehabadi said, Trend reports citing the bank’s website.
The director general noted that the Central Bank of Iran has long been investigating the use of cryptocurrency and has taken a number of important steps in this regard.
He also added that the use of cryptocurrency will be implemented in some parts of the country and will be tested for 6 months.
According to Salehabadi, necessary instructions will be provided by specialists during the period of cryptocurrency use.
“At the end of the trial period, a decision will be made on the use of cryptocurrency, based on the reports of specialists for a period of 6 months,” the official said.
