BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. The volume of capital repatriation from Azerbaijan grew in the first half of 2022, Trend reports via the balance of payments of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, this figure amounted to $5.2 billion, up by 2.05 times compared to the first half of last year ($2.5 billion).
A total of $2.83 billion was repatriated in the first quarter of this year, and $2.4 billion - in the second quarter.
Besides, according to the CBA, $2.8 billion in the structure of capital repatriation from January through June 2022 accounted for the repatriation of capital from international oil and gas consortiums in the form of profitable oil and gas.
The total repatriation of capital by foreign investors in the reporting period amounted to $2.9 billion.
Meanwhile, as the CBA stressed, residents of Azerbaijan paid interest to non-residents on securities in the amount of $168.3 million, interest on foreign loans - $150.1 million, and other payments - $118.5 million.
In 2021, the capital repatriation rate increased by 54.5 percent year-on-year to $6.9 billion.
