Amount of loans issued by Iranian banks to legal entities, individuals soars

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. The amount loans issued by Iranian banks to legal entities and individuals increased by 47.2 percent during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 23, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

In general, Iranian banks issued loans to legal entities and individuals worth 23.3 quadrillion rials (about $555 billion) in 7 months, while, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 15.8 quadrillion rials (about $377 billion).

Of the loans for seven months, 68 percent was issued to legal entities, and 32 percent to individuals.

Within 7 months, Iranian banks issued loans to legal entities worth 15.8 quadrillion rials (about $377 billion), which is an increase of 43.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, the figure was 11 quadrillion rials (about $262 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.

At the same time, the country’s banks issued loans to individuals worth about 7.47 quadrillion rials (about $178 billion), which is an increase of 55 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. This figure amounted to 4.81 quadrillion rials (about $115 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
