Azerbaijan reveals volume of loans issued in Baku, districts

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. The volume of issued loans in the capital and districts of Azerbaijan increased by 2.6 billion manat ($1.5 billion) or 15.36 percent as of February 28, 2023, compared to the same period in 2021, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, this figure amounted to 19.7 billion manat ($11.5 billion).

According to the bank, loans worth 15.104 billion manat ($8.8 billion) were issued in Baku, which is 3.24 times higher than in the districts.

In the capital, loans in national currency totaled 11.2 billion manat ($6.5 billion), or 75.06 percent of the total volume of loans in Baku.

The average annual interest rate on the country’s loans totaled 12.39 percent, and on Baku's loans, 10.77 percent.
