BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. The volume of loans issued in Baku and regions of Azerbaijan as of March 31, 2023 increased by 2.51 billion manat ($1.4 billion), or 14.32 percent compared to the same period in 2022, amounting to 20 billion manat ($11.7 billion), Trend reports on with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

According to the bank, during the specified period, loans worth 15.3 billion manat ($9 billion) were issued in Azerbaijan's capital Baku, which is 3.26 times higher than the total volume of loans issued in all regions.

In the capital, loans in national currency accounted for 11.5 billion manat ($6.7 billion), which is 74.97 percent of the total volume of loans in Baku.

At the same time, the average annual interest rate in the country was 12.38 percent, while in Baku - 10.78 percent.
