BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. The Bank Maskan Iran has provided loans totaling 515 trillion rials (about $12.3 billion) for the construction of 38,817 buildings across the country in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 to September 27, 2023), Trend reports.
According to the bank’s data, these buildings will have 286,241 apartments in 31 provinces of the country.
From March 21 to September 27, 2023, the bank and construction companies signed agreements on lending 1 quadrillion rials (about $24 billion).
The most loans were allocated in Fars, Tehran and Isfahan provinces.
Fars Province received loan agreements worth about 86.9 trillion rials (about $2.07 billion). So far, 40 trillion rials (about $954 million) has been disbursed under these agreements. In Fars province, the contracts are aimed at building 23,920 apartments.
Also, Tehran Province got loan agreements worth about 95.9 trillion rials (about $2.28 billion). So far, 51 trillion rials (about $1.21 billion) has been paid under these agreements. The contracts were made for building 22,842 apartment buildings in Tehran province.
Meanwhile, Isfahan Province had loan agreements worth about 70.3 trillion rials (about $1.67 billion). So far, loans worth 40.5 trillion rials (about $965 million) have been given under these agreements. Contracts were granted for construction of 20,389 apartment buildings in Isfahan province.
The current government of Iran has planned to provide 4 million apartments in the country within the framework of the National Housing Action Plan.
According to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, by the middle of 2022, the area for the construction of 2.8 million apartment buildings has been allocated.
