Development of Outline State Program E-Azerbaijan for 2009-2012 to Complete in Autumn

Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 July / Trend corr. S.Babayeva/ "Azerbaijan's Ministry of Communications & IT plans to complete development of outline version of state program E-Azerbaijan intended for 2009- 2012 in September," Ministry reported on 15 July.

The decision to develop continuation of State program was made at the meeting of Coordination Council under the chairmanship of Iltimas Mammadov, Deputy Minister.

"Currently, we [Ministry of Communications & IT] are receiving proposals and comments on projects and work which may be included in State program from different state establishments. They will be generalized and considered by the working group," Ministry reported.

The program will reflect the priorities in development of the communications and IT field in Azerbaijan for further three years.

The previous and first State Program 'E-Azerbaijan' for 2005-2008 was approved by Azerbaijan President, Ilham Aliyev, in October 2005.

Program is directed to the economical-structural reforms, up-gradation and expansion of communication and IT, development and implementation of projects to provide transition to informational society.
