Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on nanotechnology to develop in the country, official Turkmen source said.

"We must use the latest achievements, such as nanotechnologies to develop," Turkmen president said at the last governmental meeting.

Berdimuhamedov, appointed president in 2007, reestablished Academy of Sciences and Post-graduate Institute broken up by former president. He restored education system to standard norms as well.

Scientists consider facilities with use of nanotechnologies to be high energy effective. As raw materials several simple atoms, such as carbon, hydrogen, silicon and nitrogen can be used. Presently, the United States and Japan are leaders in nanotechnology research.
