The volume of traffic entering the country increased by 118.6 million minutes and reached 634 million minutes in 2009 compared to 2008, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said as results of 2009.
According to the ministry, the volume of outgoing traffic increased by 6.2 million minutes, totaling 161.2 million minutes.
Under the agreement signed by the ministry's computing center and "Optik Rabitə Tikinti Quraşdırma" company, the sides are working on laying fiber-optic cable line in the Siyazan-Davachi-Guba-Samur direction to ensure the sustainability of international lines and increase the capacity of optical communication lines. At present, the work is under completion.
