In 2009, revenues from mobile sector in Azerbaijan amounted to 710,2 million manat or 11 percent more compared to the same period of 2008, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers said.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, during last year the number of mobile subscribers increased by 1.6 million subscribers and amounted to 7.73 million subscribers.
As a result of 2009, operations have been undertaken to expand the wireless network by state operators of wireless communication standard CDMA, which at the end of the year had covered 60 per cent of the population. A number of CDMA subscribers at the end of the year reached 23,300 subscribers.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, eight personal computers and 37 Internet users fall to 100 people.
