Iranian MP: four countries may create joint web search engines

Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey may create joint web search engines, Member of the Iranian Parliament Committee on Industries and Mines Ramezan Ali Sobhani Far said, Trend reports via the parliament’s website.
He said that the agreement signed between the communication ministers of the four countries makes this possible.
He added that the ministers of the four countries signed a contract on startups, e-economy, fiber optics, infrastructure, telecommunications and online sales. This also creates possibility for mutual cooperation, he noted.
“Presently, Iran’s e-economy is estimated at about $8 billion,” he said. “This figure should increase to $50 billion over the next five years.”
