The winners of the bid of the pilot project E-Shamakhi has been announced. The subject of the tender is to create a pilot network Next Generation Network (NGN) in Shamakhi, Trend reports. The first place was won by Slovenian Iskratel, second was Chinese Huawei, third was French Alkatel and fourth was British Azeurotell.

As was stated previously, by the end of the year Aztelekom Production Unit plans to carry out the pilot project which involves the application of NGN technology in this region. After completion of the project, the inhabitants of the remote villages of Shamakhi will be able to use all the NGN services.

If the project proves to be successful, the network will expand to other regions of Azerbaijan.

In Baku this technology was first presented to the subscribers of Baki Telefon Rabitasi last year through the equipments purchased from Huawei.

NGN network ensures the quality of the services necessary for the different types of the telecommunication traffic. Applying this technology will create opportunities to use the services such as VoIP-telephone, noisy post, dada delivery, multimedia services, virtual private networks, interactive games, videoconference, home manager, etc.
