The volume of goods transported in the Azerbaijani part of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor (TRACECA) amounted to 47.6 million tons while cargo turnover amounted to 10.2 billion tons from January through November 2019, Trend reports on Jan. 22 referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
The volume of the transported goods decreased by 0.3 percent from January through November 2019 compared to the same period of 2018.
A great share of the total volume of cargo transportation (65.2 percent) accounted for vehicles – over 31 million tons, the growth in cargo transportation amounted to 2.9 percent.
Some 25.5 percent of all cargo transportation - 12.1 million tons accounted for railway. The growth in cargo transportation amounted to 6.7 percent from January through November 2019 compared to the same period of 2018.
Some 9.3 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation accounted for ships and the volume amounted to 4.4 million tons (almost 29.3 percent-decrease).
About 15.3 percent of goods transported through the corridor in the volume of 7.3 million tons accounted for transit cargo.
