Cargo transit volume to Turkey via Kazakhstan's Aktau revealed

Over 440 TEU of cargo were transited via Kazakhstan’s Aktau sea port in May 2020, Aktau port’s representative told Trend.

The official said that for the most part, the cargo was transited to Turkey.

An overall of 388 TEU of copper cathodes and zinc were transported from Uzbekistan to Turkey via Aktau port in May 2020.

In turn, a total of 56 TEU of ferrosilicon were transported from China to Turkey via transit through Aktau port during the reporting month.

Kazakhstan’s Aktau sea port also handled 1,302 of cargo on the Aktau-Baku-Aktau route in May 2020, of which 814 TEU of cargo transported in transit.

Currently, there are three operating seaports in Kazakhstan: Aktau, Bautino and Kuryk.

Nowadays, Aktau International Commercial Sea Port is a modern multi-purpose terminal that allows the transportation of goods from East to West, from North to South and back 12 months a year and 24 hours a day.

Bautino сargo port is a division of Aktau International Commercial Sea Port, and is located in the village of Bautino (150 km from the city of Aktau), in the waters of the Bautino Bay of Tyubkaragansky Gulf.
